The purpose of this blog is to assist fellow developers starting out with programming. Aren't there enough sites out there that you can use as resources? Yes, but there are never enough resources out there when you are stuck with a coding issue.
So why after so long of developing applications have I decided to start this blog? This is my way to give back to the developer community. After a few long years of development work I have leveraged the work of other developers to get my work done.
Who am I, you ask? My name is Ray Chin. I am a developer in Austin, TX working a normal 8-5 job, but like many other developers out there, I've been stretched to the limits trying figure out this programing stuff. I remember college and how it was always a struggle to figure out programming. What is object oriented programming? What is public static void main? What does the "string[] args" do? So many questions that I was afraid to ask because I was afraid of sounding stupid or ignorant, but over the years, I have found the answer to these questions and many more. The goal of this blog is to help people like myself to excel in programming and answer any of the questions that the beginning programmer may have.
I have been developing web applications for the past few years using .NET for a large corporation. My experience includes programming with C# leveraging the AJAX Control Toolkit. I have also done some programming of SharePoint/MOSS web parts. In my previous position, I tried my hand a flash and actionscript and learned a little photoshop. Now, I have been tasked with developing BlackBerry native applications. ...We'll see what happens.
Please leave feedback and any questions you have. I will do my best to answer your questions or help point you in the right direction. I don't claim to be a professional developer that knows everything. Just a normal guy that has been thru the endless hours of debugging.
